A BURY pensioner claims she is the victim of a vendetta after paint stripper was hurled over her car.

The incident is a carbon copy of a similar act of vandalism 10 months ago which forced Mrs Patricia Moir to write-off her BMW. Now, a replacement £7,500 Ford Fiesta car has been targeted in the latest attack.

Mrs Moir, aged 69, of Colinwood Close, Sunnybank, said: “As far as I’m aware, the paint stripper was thrown over my car from a ginnel that runs down the side of my house. Whoever did this threw the paint stripper over my fence and on to the car.

“The Fiesta was damaged all over. As yet, I don’t know the full cost of repairs. I’ve been in touch with my insurance company but I’m still awaiting for them to send out someone to come out and have a look. The car was parked at the top of my driveway which has a padlocked gate.”

Ten months ago, her BMW vehicle also had paint stripper thrown over it. “I had to have the car written off because it was going to cost too much to respray it.”

Mrs Moir is adamant the incidents are linked and that she has been singled out. “I’m the victim of a vendetta and I’ve been deliberately targeted,” she claimed.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to ring Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050.
