Castle Leisure Centre rejoiced to the sound of music when more than 1,000 youngsters from 33 primary Schools took part in the annual Children of Bury Sing event, in four separate concerts.

A combined audience of 1,600 proud parents, family and friends, attended the two-hour performances on Saturday and Sunday.

Pupils sang pieces from Disney films such as Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Pocahontas and Aladdin. Teachers took to the stage to perform Abba songs, Money, Money, Money and Waterloo.

The concerts also featured a Childhood Sketches composition, written by the headteacher of Radcliffe Primary School, Tim Power. Children of Bury Sing is organised by headteachers and Paul Jarvis, director of studies at Bury Music Service.
