Police have seized a large amount of drugs and £25,000 in cash during a warrant in Ramsbottom.

On Tuesday, officers from the drugs unit and intelligence officers executed a warrant at a house in Whalley Road.

Inside, police discovered cocaine in the living room with a street value of £50,000.

A full house search was conducted and 81 cannabis plants with the street value of £20,000 were found and £25,000 in cash recovered in a shoe box.

A 27-year-old man and 26-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, suspicion of production of Class B drugs and suspicion of money laundering.

Both have been bailed until 7 May 2012.

Detective Inspector John Mazzolai, from Bury CID, said: "This was a massive find that will certainly cause major disruption to the drug dealing underworld who try to blight the local community.

"We could not have taken the action we did without help from the residents and I would encourage anyone with information about those involved in the sale and supply of drugs to come forward and talk to us in complete and utter confidence.

"The community has shown it is prepared to work with us in the fight against drugs and I’d like to express my thanks to those who came forward and made all this possible."

Anyone who has information of the supply or cultivation of drugs within the community are urged to contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
