A SILVER medal-winning performance has crowned a successful boccia season for Bury Jigsaw.
The charity, which promotes fun, freedom and independence for young disabled people, took the honours at the National Boccia England finals which were held in Sheffield.
The organisation fielded three teams at the event: Bury Tigers, Bury Aces and Bury Jigsaw. Each had come top of their respective North West leagues and qualified for the finals day.
At the event, Bury Tigers came 13th, Bury Aces ended up in fourth place, and Bury Jigsaw finished second nationally, gaining silver medals. Bury Jigsaw have now been promoted to the National Boccia Superleague.
Theresa Davis, Jigsaw co-ordinator, said: "We are delighted that our teams have done so well."
