A 60-YEAR-OLD woman was bitten by a Staffordshire bull terrier while walking through a Radcliffe park.
The woman was out with her husband for a walk around Close Park at about 9.15pm on Tuesday, when the large light brown dog bit her on the back of the leg.
A police spokesman said: “The couple were on an evening walk in the park as they usually do, when they saw four Staffies running around.
“One of the dogs was on a lead, while the other three weren’t under control.
“The pair stopped walking and two of the dogs ran over to them. One jumped up at the woman, biting the back of her leg and drawing blood.
“The owner apparently told her that’s why he only walks them at night because of the ‘way they are’.
“We now want to trace the owner because we need to find out if the dog is safe or not.”
The owner is described as a white male, aged 18/19, 6ft tall, with a black eye, wearing a red T-shirt and baseball cap.
If anyone has any information, they should call the police on 101.
