FILMING has begun on a new BBC mini-series starring Oscar-nominated actress Toni Collette.

The Bury Times understands filming on Wanderlust, a joint-venture between the BBC and Netflix, has begun in the town centre.

Crews are filming at Bury Parish Church, The Rock and it is believed 180 bays of the Castle Leisure Centre car park have been set aside for film crews.

Wanderlust follows Joy Richards, (Toni Collette) a therapist trying to find a way to keep her spark with her husband alive after a cycling accident causes them to reassess their relationship.

The six-part drama, which will premiere in the UK on BBC One, has been written by British playwright and screenwriter Nick Payne, who has adapted his 2010 play of the same name for TV.
