TWO youngsters were "egg-static" after receiving the news they had won our Design an Egg competition.
The Bury Times ran a competition asking children to design an Easter egg by drawing on and colouring in a blank egg template and was inundated with entries from children throughout the borough.
Finalists were announced in a special supplement in the Bury Times on March 12 and readers had a week to vote for their favourite design.
Winners Kacie-Leigh Olsen, a pupil at St Mary's R C Primary School, and Jack Brookes, aged eight, impressed the readers with their creative eggs.
The pair were rewarded with their designs made into huge milk chocolate eggs by Slattery Patissier & Chocolatier, of Whitefield.
Winner of the four to seven years section, Kacie-Leigh, from Radcliffe, was delighted to receive her Easter egg.
She said: “I drew an egg with Peppa Pig on. I'm going to share it with my brother.”
Jack Brookes, aged eight, a pupil at Old Hall Primary School, won the eight to 11 years section with his egg design.
