DETERMINED residents in Ramsbottom have won their fight against a nuisance neighbour who caused havoc in a block of flats.

Brett Barlow, aged 32, had received several warnings following complaints about loud music, threatening behaviour and abusive language.

He has now been evicted from the flat in Hope Street after a court case and more complaints from disgruntled neighbours.

Last June a judge found Barlow had breached the conditions of his tenancy agreement. Bury Council was granted an 18-month injunction which banned Barlow from behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.

But the council received further reports of shouting, abusive language, banging, arguing, singing and rowdy visitors.

Last month, a judge granted Six Town Housing possession of the property and Barlow was fined £350. John Merrick, of Six Town Housing, said: “Without the determination, perseverance and assistance of residents in Hope Street, it would have been impossible to achieve this result.”
