JOHN McGuire as retired as chairman of Marketing Manchester after five years.
His replacement is Nick Johnson, deputy chief executive of Urban Splash.
Principal of McGuire Associates, former president of Manchester Chamber of Commerce and top corporate banker, John has chaired Marketing Manchester since 2001 and throughout the company's significant expansion to tourist board in 2004.
After a distinguished 40 year career in business, John has been an integral part of the company's success and the city's achievements. In his time as chairman, Manchester has grown to a major international destination and is visited by over 90 million visitors a year.
Marketing Manchester is the Tourist Board for Greater Manchester. It is the agency charged with promoting Greater Manchester on a national and international scale.
