WORLD War One commemorations will have Radcliffe at their heart with the town set to host the borough’s first ever Festival of Remembrance later this month.

On October 30 at 7pm, air, sea and army cadets will host an evening of entertainment at Radcliffe Civic Suite.

A 250-strong audience will enjoy performances by the Royal Regiment of Bury Fusiliers band, poet Peter Slayter, the Air Cadet Pipers 70 Squadron and a veteran’s sweetheart singer.

Standards will be marched in before the Mayor of Bury, Cllr Michelle Wiseman, lays a wreath.

Tickets costing £5 are available via the cadet headquarters in Knowles Street; by e-mailing for.radcliffe@gmail.com; or by calling 0161 724 6882.
