STAFF from Asda handed over a cheque for £500 to Grace's Place last week after collecting donations in its Radcliffe store.
The children's hospice, in Dumers Lane, is hoping to open later this year once it has collected enough donations to finish furnishing the centre and employ staff.
Grace's Place will have four bedrooms for young patients with life-threatening or terminal illness, as well as other facilities such as a sensory room and sleeping areas for family members.
Joan Grimshaw, chairman of trustees at the hospice, said: "Everyone has been working so hard raising money to help get Grace's Place up and running and hopefully we will be able to start taking in patients nearer the end of the year."
