A MEMORIAL will take place in Radcliffe on Monday in honour of woman who has passed away aged 46 after a four-month battle with cancer.

The hugely popular Joanne Chadwick, originally from Summerseat, died of stomach cancer on January 24.

After previously beating breast cancer in early 2016, Joanne, whose nickname was “Jo Wine”, also fought meningitis along with her daughter, Charlotte, and campaigned for the importance of checking out symptoms early.

Clare McGuiness, a close friend, said: “Jo was a larger than life character with a megawatt smile whether it was fighting this awful disease or generally just being one of the strongest and bravest people that I have ever had the privilege to know.”

A day of remembrance will begin at Radcliffe Crematorium on Monday February 13 at 3:30pm.

A JustGiving page has been set up in her memory and is called “raising £5000 to Jo Wine’s charity collection.”
