GARDENERS and bakers produced a room full of colourful exhibits at Tottington & District Horticultural Show.
Families enjoyed the autumn show, celebrating 80 years of Tottington & District Horticultural Society, at Greenmount Old School on September 12.
Displays of dahlias, gladioli, chrysanthemums and garden flowers filled the room.
Valerie Taylor, who helps organise the show, said: “Despite the wet start to the day, we were pleased to have a good number of entries in most classes.
“Fruit, vegetables, eggs and wine classes were interesting and we admired the skills involved in producing the lovely items in crafts, floral art and cookery classes, while the children produced some spectacular and very individual articles.
“We thank the judges, two of whom stepped in at short notice, helpers, exhibitors and visitors who all contributed to the success of the show.”
Frank Hartnell, a well-respected Gladiolus grower and society member, exhibited three new varieties, naming two of them after ladies on the show's committee.
A presentation of trophies was made by May Bebb, who has supported as a judge for a number of years.
