FLOODING is causing disruption on the roads and railway lines during rush hour —with householders also being warned to be on guard.
Trains have been affected by the wet weather, with roads and motorways becoming hazardous because of standing water and spray.
The Environment Agency is calling on people who live within the vicinity of the River Irwell to prepare for the possibility of flooding, with the heavy rain expected to continue tonight.
Drivers are being urged to avoid driving through deep standing water, as this could cause serious damage to the car's engine.
