THE final headliner for Ramsbottom’s Head for the Hills festival has been announced.

Maximo Park, an indie rock quartet from Newcastle, has been confirmed to headline for Friday night, with Beth Orton headlining Saturday and The Stranglers on Sunday.

The three-day event, formerly known as Ramsbottom Festival, takes place on September 15, 16 and 17.

Maximo Park is currently touring the UK and Europe following the release of their sixth studio album ‘Risk to Exist’.

Other confirmed bands playing this year include The Stranglers, Beth Orton, Manchester band Dutch Uncles and Ska legends, the Neville Staple Band.

It is returning for its seventh year to Ramsbottom Cricket Club, following last year’s record attendance of more than 12,000.

The festival has three new ‘up and coming’ music stages this year, Smaller Rooms, By The River and T’Other Stage.

The new music stages, with line ups curated by Scruff of the Neck, Blueprint Studios and Republic Music Management, will play host to an impressive line-up of new and up and coming bands from across the UK.

Acts include alt rock quintet Heavy On The Magic fronted by Blueprint’s own Chris Haddon, indie-rockers Stillia, who have recently released their official video for the single ‘Let Me In’ starring comedian Johnny Vegas and popular Kent rock and pop duo Skies.

The event will feature a wide variety of daytime family arts, food stalls, and beer tents offering a range of locally-produced craft beers including a specially-commissioned festival ale.

Ticket prices start at £29 for a day ticket and £72 for a weekend ticket, with discounts for children and families, while youngsters under the age of six go free.

There are a limited number of tickets available at this price, with the next wave arriving at the start of July.
