With the 2014 season on the horizon, Bury Croquet Club looked back on their 25th anniversary year in 2013 as members gathered for their annual dinner event.
Last year, members secured a broad range of regional, national and international successes as the trophy table strained under the weight of the silverware acquired.
The club’s greatest accolade of man-of-the-year went to Matt Holmes, who was successful in his bid for the Croquet Association Treasurer's Tankard at the first attempt.
The simply engraved crystal tankard belies the significance of this national “invitation only” event, where Matt competed with the country’s finest. Already a member of the GB team development squad, Matt must surely now be catching the eye of the selectors.
