BURY have agreed a deal to sign Sheffield Wednesday winger Danny Mayor on a three-year contract.
Shakers chairman Stewart Day announced the signing after handing the 22-year-old midfielder the players' player of the year award at the club's end of season ceremony tonight.
It is not yet clear if Bury have paid a fee for the Leyland-born player, who still had another year left on his contract at Hillsborough.
But Day said his signing was a statement of intent.
"It is a signing we desperately wanted to make and one we have worked very hard on," he said.
"I believe it shows the ambition of this club and I am delighted to have him on board."
Mayor moved to the Owls from Preston North End in July, 2012, but made just nine appearances for the Yorkshire side.
He has come of age, however, during a season-long loan at the JD Stadium, scoring five goals in 41 appearances.
