Bury moved within touching distance of the Summer League title with a comprehensive victory over Golborne on Thursday.
Two goals from James Oakes and a fierce reverse stick effort from Simon Major had pushed Bury into a three-goal lead.
Debutant Chris Major, grabbed a fourth before half time, following some excellent interchanges with brother Simon.
The second half saw some great team play set up both Oakes and Toby Carr-Brown for further goals, before Golborne finally got on the score sheet following a quick break.
A rare goal for captain Tariq Sheikh and a final strike from Chris Major put the gloss on the scoreline, before Golborne netted another consolation strike.
This results sets up a tense final week of the Summer League as Bury face Morecambe to decide who will finish the season as champions.
However, with Preston hot on their heels, Bury know they may finish as low as third, if results do not go their way.
