LANCASHIRE SPINNERS head into the second half of the season top of National League Division Two. The Spinners registered four wins on the bounce before the Christmas break, three of those away to London-based opposition.

After defeating London Greenhouse Pioneers, two tight wins in two days - against Eastside Eagles and Brixton Topcats - ensured Spinners finished the year with nine victories and just a single defeat.

On Saturday, Spinners face promotion rivals London Lituancia at home and player-coach Steven Gayle has called for the town to get behind the team and their title push, “We would love to have a big crowd at every game for the rest of the year to cheer us on to and help us to make the Castle Centre a place where no other teams want to come and play. If we can really get the community behind us we have a great chance of giving Lancashire a basketball team in the top league in England.”

Tip off is at 5.40pm.
