Five Radcliffe Athletic Club members notched up great times when they took part in half-marathons on Sunday.

Four proved they do like to be beside the seaside at the popular Greater North West Half Marathon in Blackpool, while another rose to the occasion at the Village Bakery Half Marathon, in Wrexham.

Andrew O’Donnell led home the RAC contingent at Blackpool, clocking 1hr 33mins 34secs to finish 96th out of more than 600 runners. Alex Brady ran 1:36:03, followed by Dominic Parry (1:49:04) and Amy Brough-Aikin (2:03:36).

Meanwhile, Kath Biddle finished the flat and fast Village Bakery Half Marathon in 2:08:13. She ran 27:25 the day before at Dewsbury Parkrun.

The biggest RAC turnout at parkrun was at Bolton where Ethan Malone ran 27:47, followed by Kath Davies (29:05), Charlotte Holden (29:39), Natalie Hitchen (37:26), Sarah Rushton (37:32) and Andy Wheeler (51:35 - walking).

Rob Shiels was second in a speedy 22:36 at a very muddy Clarence Parkrun, in Bury, while Stephen Crowe ran 35:58 and Bev Quinton clocked 1:00:14 as the volunteer park walker.

Mark Garner was 35th in 21:40 at Burnley, while it was a family affair at Marshall Drive Parkrun in the North East as junior Benjamin Tighe (JW10) ran 37:29 with mum Lucie, and dad Brennan clocked 39:42.

Alison Howarth ran 27:27 at Heaton Park where Sheila McNulty was first VW75 in 32:40, while Sara Parry bagged her fourth personal best in a row, clocking 28:33 with daughter Skyler (JW10).
