It was another bumper week for Radcliffe AC with runners flying the flag as far off as Mongolia.

Sunday saw club members out in force at the third race in the Central Lancashire Grand Prix (CLGP).

The Trotters 5 Mile Community Trail Race, hosted by Burnden Road Runners, boasted a new and improved route with even more trails and paths around Smithills Country Park.

First in for RAC was Gary Adkins (M V40) with an impressive 35mins 9secs. Andrew O’Donnell (M Senior) was hot on his heels with 38:57, while first female over the line for RAC was Chemane Golding (FV35) in 47:40.

The Run the Moors Fell Grand Prix kicked off their season on Sunday with six members taking part in the Ian Roberts Memorial Race, hosted by Holmfirth Harriers AC.

The race is 6.5 miles with more than 850 feet of climb and in the snow, first home for RAC was Craig Norman (MV40) in 1:00:12, closely followed by Ian Swan (MV40), in 1:02:13. Lee Turner finished in 1:10:31, followed by Neil Greenhalgh, in 1:16:16, and Warren Simmens, in 1:19:00.

Rob Shiels, Male Vet 45, finished the Trafford 10k in a cracking time of 39:43, while Kath Biddle completed the gruelling Chester Ultra 50 Mile Race in a magnificent 15:22:46.

Further afield, in Outer Mongolia, Katy Chaplin, walked 100 miles across a frozen lake, completing the Mongol 100. Participants traverse the entirety of Lake Khovsgol, one of 17 ancient lakes in the world, from north to south by any means possible.
