It was an all-female racing week for Radcliffe AC as they celebrated International Women’s Day last Friday.

Kicking things off on Saturday morning was Kathryn Davies as she took on the brutal Haworth Hobble. The race, organised by Keighley and Craven Athletics Club, fully supports sheRACES to ensure it is among the most female-friendly around. Entries to the 43rd 32-mile trail race sold out in just four days with competitors traversing gritstone moors around Haworth, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge with 4,440 feet of ascent and descent. Davies finished well under the 11-hour cut-off time in a remarkable 8hrs 37mins 56secs.

The ladies were also in action at the Chester 10k - the first in the Chester Triple Medal series. The fast course takes in the iconic Chester Racecourse, the picturesque village of Mollington, the historic Victorian town hall and medieval cathedral before finishing with the spectacular backdrop of the Eastgate clock. First over the line for club was FV35 Chemane Golding with a chip time of 50:04. She was followed by Kath Biddle (FV50), in 57:16, Emma Wolstencroft (FV50), in 58:41 for a course personal best, and Tracy Wroe (FV60), in 1:05:11.

Ten runners took part in parkrun at Heaton Park.
