RHYS Roberts believes his career is on the up after signing a two-year deal with promoter Frank Warren.

The 24-year-old Whitefield-born super-bantamweight is set for a return to the ring tomorrow night in Liverpool when he takes on Welsh fighter Dai Davies in a rematch of the draw between the two in Sheffield last July.

And having joined Warren’s stable, Roberts is hopeful it will kick-start his bid to achieve a shot at a British title within the next 12 months.

He won on points against Hungarian Adrian Fuzesi last time out to record a 16th win in 19 fights.

Roberts said: “I wasn’t signed up with anyone but was keen to get that sorted.

“There was talk of joing Amir Khan’s camp because I now work with his former trainer Oliver Harrison.

“But I am happy to have joined Frank Warren and to look to the future.

“I needed to get something done quickly because I have not fought since October and was raring to get back in the ring.

“I think it is a good move for my career and hopefully he will be able to get me regular fights now.

“I am in good shape and excited to be back in there after being away longer than I expected.”
