RAMSBOTTOM moved into second place in the Lancashire League, 53 points behind Accrington after an 84-run win at Enfield.

Tom Parton’s fine form continued with another impressive innings of 80 with 10 fours from 112 balls. Parton added 95 with professional Pieter Malan, who hit 61 from 81 balls with six fours and two sixes.

Rob Faulkner also made 20 in an opening stand of 59 with Parton, but Hassan Fazal (5-53) and Greg Jones (3-44) combined as the last eight wickets fell for the addition of 27 runs with Ramsbottom bowled out for 219.

Lewis Wright made 25 in an hour and a half at the top of the order, but only skipper Adam Bracewell, who made 41, contributed as Enfield slumped to 103-9. A last-wicket stand of 32 between Simon O’Loughlin (15 not out) and Scott Wilkinson (13) took Enfield to 135 all out with Ramsbottom skipper Jon Fielding taking 4-28 and Andy Hakin 3-38.
