BURY Comets secured another triple victory in the penultimate round of Northern League matches at Sheffield's Cookson Park.

A hard-fought Division One fixture, punctuated with some unusual refereeing decisions, resulted in a 92-83 win for Bury on a relatively difficult Sheffield circuit.

James Elston continued in his rich vein of form, taking two wins, before his score was trimmed by an exclusion.

Ben Scranage and Chris Parish scored heavily and Danny Taylor produced some excellent races.

The star of the day was young Adam Taylor, with his three point total not at all reflective of a stunning display, which saw a series of excellent passes on his experienced and much older Sheffield counterparts.

Bury: Chris Parrish 18 (from five rides), Ben Scranage 16+1 (5), Danny Taylor 15+1 (5), Kris Ramsden 13+1 (5), Will Owens 12+1 (5), James Elston 12 (5), Adam Turnbull 4 (3), Adam Taylor 3 (3).

Division Two was a relatively straightforward 88-62 win for Bury, who powered into an early lead thanks to some great teamwork from the two Adams, Turnbull and Taylor, lowering the colours of Women's World and British Champion Vicky Brown early in the match.

Elston and Danny Taylor continued where they had left off in Division One, both riding to untroubled maximums.

Turnbull impressed throughout, with some superb teamwork, resulting in another maximum and Louis Turner worked hard in his two rides after stepping up from Division Three.

Bury: Danny Taylor 19+1 (5), James Elston 18+2 (5), Adam Turnbull 17+3 (5), Adam Taylor 16 (5), Kaysar Mohammadi 10 (4), Louis Turner 3 (2), Steve Mann 3 (3), Daniel Miller 2 (1).

For the second Division Three match in succession, the Comets drew huge praise from all in attendance; this time fielding a huge 21 riders in the Grand Prix format meeting.

Daniel Miller, Thom Deakin and Angel Etheridge all impressed as Bury won 233-76.

Bury: Kaysar Mohammadi 16, Daniel Miller 15, Thom Deakin 15, Louis Turner 14, Kaci Neath 14, Duncan Whalley 14, Harry Radford 14, Zak Thacker 13, Angel Etheridge 12, Kacper Renc 11, Dean Nolan 11, Josh Neath 10, Sean Etheridge 9, N Renc 9, Hermione Whalley 9, Sheldon Nolan 9, R Neath 8, Charlie Thacker 7, Kyle Turner 7, Dane Brooks 4, Luis Roberts 4.

Kris Ramsden retained his Club Individual Championship, with a fine 20 point maximum. Ben Scranage was runner-up for a second year in succession, with James Elston's third place seeing him take the junior title too.

This weekend is the last of the regular season with Hull the visitors to Goshen as Bury aim to confirm second place in all three Divisions of the Northern League.
