JEREL Livingston set a hat-trick of personal bests at the Trafford Medal meeting.

The young Bury Athletic Club sprinter won the under-13s 100m in 13.08 secs and 200m in 27.40 before putting in an amazing leap of 5.04m to claim victory in the long jump.

Not only did Livingston win gold, he also moved up the national rankings to third in his age group, based on performances this year.

Grace Goodsell finished second in the u15s 100m in a personal best time of 12.89, and also set a new mark in the long jump with 5.10m.

There were also bests for Hattie Vaughan in the 100m (13.49) and Daisy Worthington in the 300m (43.8) and 75m hurdles (12.6).

Both Vaughan and Worthington also showed their prowess in the field events last week.

Vaughan achieved the English Schools' qualifying height in the pole vault at a meeting in Exeter, setting a new best of 2.85m.

Worthington, meanwhile, set a new pb at the UK Javelin Carnival with a throw of 20.29m, while Heledd Rimmer managed 27.43m.

In the Youth Development League meeting in Blackburn, Iestyn Rimmer won the u20s 3,000m in 11:10.6 and Christie Cook set a new season’s best of 2:23.1 to win the 800m in the same age group.

For the u17s, Hashim Shah won both sprint A races with times of 11.8 and 24.1, respectively, and James Coghlan was rewarded with new pbs in the B 100m (12.1) and B 200m (24.2).

Girls’ team captain Jenna Allen-Cartwright was sixth in the A 100m (14.2) and scored points in the discus and 4x100m relay.

Lucy Alcock set a new best time of 5:18.9 to win the 1500m, while boys' captain Alex Bennett set a new pb of 55.8 in the 400m.

Teegan Brady and Chloe Fairhurst performed well in their events (100m, 200m and 300m) before teaming up with Allen-Cartwright to take third in the sprint relay.

Elsewhere, Ben Coop was third in the Fo(e) Edge race, finishing the demanding course in 31:42, and 10th in the Hutton Roof Crags race in 56:22.
