TRIBUTES have been paid to former Bury goalkeeper Chris Harker who has died aged 77.
Harker, who played almost 200 games for the Shakers between 1962-67, passed away earlier this month.
The Shiremoor-born keeper started his career at Newcastle United before joining boss Bob Stokoe at Gigg Lane.
He will be remembered for his accidental collision with striker Brian Clough in a Boxing Day game against Sunderland at Roker Park in 1962.
In icy conditions, Harker went into a 50-50 challenge with the 29-year-old England frontman, who suffered career-ending knee ligament damage.
Harker also had spells at Aberdeen, Grimsby and Rochdale before becoming Darlington coach.
His funeral will be held at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, September 19 at 2.45pm.
