ELTON Vale battled back after going 2-0 down inside the first 15 minutes to rescue a point.
Chris Hopwood put Leigh ahead after Vale allowed him too much space and time to pick his spot.
The second was an equally poor goal to concede with Doran putting the Elton keeper Phil Kenyon under pressure with a back pass from close range, and he could only direct his clearance to Chris Priest, who rolled the ball into the net.
Vale then got into their stride and got their just reward when Ryan Buckley sent a probing ball for Matt Barnes to hit a left foot shot into the bottom corner.
They levelled in the second half when Ross Buckley’s free kick was scrambled home by Anthony Kenyon.
Elton entertain Wythenshawe Amateurs on Saturday, kick off 2pm.
