WALSHAW gave their title chances and big shot in the arm with a comfortable win over relegation threatened Pennington.
They took a deserved lead on 15 minutes when a corner from Duerden deceived the Pennington keeper and went straight in.
The hosts continued to dominate for the rest of the first half but the final ball was lacking.
They got their reward, however, five minutes before the break when Brad Franks finished from close range after good approach play by Slavin and Brierley Franks. They stretched their lead just before half time when Brierley was was upended before converting the spot-kick himself.
Pennington goty one back from a wind-assited free kick but Franks scored his second when his cross-shot went in at the far post.
Walshaw who were also in action at second-place Hollinwood last night, travel to Atherton Town on Saturday, kick off 2pm.
