Walshaw’S title chances took another blow on Saturday when they were held at home by leaders Wythenshawe.
Most of the game was played in the visitors’ half but the shot-shy Sycamore Road side could not convert their overwhelming territorial advantage into many worthwhile goalscoring opportunities.
The early stages saw Walshaw press the leaders back but, on 20 minutes, Isaac Adams was harshly adjudged to have handled in the box and the leaders were in front.
But an equally contentious decision 10 minutes later gave Walshaw the chance to equalise and Lee Gaskell stepped up to bury the effort.
Walshaw visit Royton Town on Saturday (2pm) before playing Stockport Georgians at Radcliffe Boro on Tuesday, kick-off 7pm.
