RADCLIFFFE Borough made it four matches unbeaten in all competitions after notching up their first victory of the Evo-Stik First Division North season at home to Trafford on Bank Holiday Monday.
After coming through a thrilling FA Cup tie with Droylsden on a replay the previous week, Bill Prendergast's men drew 1-1 at Prescot Cables on Saturday to earn their first point of the league campaign.
And they quickly followed that up with a first three points against Trafford as goals from in-form duo Elliott Rokka and Jack Hindle secured a 2-0 win.
The match was goalless after a tight first half in which Boro striker Raul Correia had a decent shout for a penalty turned down and visiting front man Aaron Burns had a goal disallowed for offside.
Burns continued to pose a threat in the second half, forcing home stopper Matty Johnson into a number of fine save. He also had another goal ruled out, this time for handball.
Andrew Langford then hit the post with a curling shot before Boro opened the scoring on the counter attack.
After soaking up pressure all afternoon, the home side pounced 13 minutes from time when Rokka latched on to a scuffed shot by Correia and rammed the ball home from three yards.
Boro then doubled their lead in the final minute when their captain, Hindle, slotted home a flick-on by Correia.
Hindle was also on target against Prescott, volleying home a Danny Ashburner knockdown following a corner just after the hour mark to cancel out Joe Nicholson's fourth-minute opener.
