JOE Gibbons' winning start as temporary boss at Radcliffe Borough ended with dropped points at Droylsden on Saturday and at home to Glossop North End on Tuesday night.

The stand-in manager began his reign with a 4-2 victory at Glossop after replacing Bill Prendergast, but lost the reverse fixture 2-1 in midweek after drawing 3-3 against The Bloods at the weekend.

Boro fell behind after 12 minutes against Glossop when captain Michael Norton beat keeper Ciaran O'Loughlan, who was unable to stop the ball rolling into the corner after it was flicked goalwards following a long free kick into the box.

Norton grabbed his second of the game 10 minutes later after bundling in the ball following a corner.

Radcliffe offered little going forward in the opening 45 minutes, with the exception of captain Jack Hindle's effort from a tight angle.

Gibbons' men improved in the second half as they began to test the keeper, with Hindle and Elliot Rokka growing into the game.

Glossop were reduced to 10 men in the final five minutes when substitute Martyn Andrews was dismissed for an elbow off the ball on Hindle.

The home side pulled a late goal back in added time after Lewis Reilly slotted home but left it too late to complete a comeback.

Reilly also scored twice at Droylsden, following up with a brace either side of half time after Rokka had put Boro in front.

But no soon as he had put Boro 3-0 up on 62 minutes the home side began the fightback, with Ciaran Kilheeney pulling one back a minute later and reducing the deficit further with a second strike before Domaine Rouse equalised 10 minutes from time.

Boro's new boss must have thought management was easy after Rokka slotted home from close range on 24 minutes.

The winger did well to carve out the opportunity following a clever flick on by Hindle from a Dillon Lomas' throw in.

Reilly then got on the score sheet with a brilliant finish from just inside the area in the 31st minute.

Hindle was again the creator as he cut through the hosts' defence with a great through ball, which Reilly collected and made no mistake as he drilled a powerful right-footed effort into the bottom corner.

The in-form striker added his second of the game just after the hour mark, finishing off a quick counter that Hindle and Rokka also played their part in.

But Kilheeney burst Boro's bubble with a header soon after the restart and added a second following a goalmouth scramble before substitute Rouse connected sweetly with a volley to level.
