BURY’S six-year wait for a league win at Spotland continues after they failed to find a response to 10-man Rochdale's first half opener.

Scott Hogan grabbed the only goal of the game in the 36th minute, tapping in after Bury keeper Trevor Carson could only parry a bullet header from Peter Vincenti.

Rochdale were reduced to 10 men just two minutes after the goal, when Vincenti picked up his second yellow card in 12 minutes following bad tackles on Nathan Cameron and then Andy Procter.

The game was set up for a Bury siege in the second half, but, despite hogging possession, they never managed a single shot on target.

Their best chance came in the 73rd minute, when the goal opened up for Andy Procter, but he inexplicably elected to spread the ball wide rather than taking a shot and Tope Obadeyi fired wide.

Rochdale’s battling performance saw them leapfrog their local rivals in League Two, with Bury dropping back into the bottom half.
