BURY boss Kevin Blackwell called for a money-spinning run in the FA Cup but is not counting his chickens just yet, despite being handed a favourable draw.
The Shakers will host Southend United for a place in the hat for the third round and a chance to draw a Premier League side after beating fellow League Two side Exeter City 1-0 on Saturday.
“We wanted a home draw and we’ve got it,” admitted Blackwell.
“But with all due respect, it’s an opportunity for Southend as well as ourselves.
“Paul Sturrock’s teams are always tough and well organised, but we’re at home and we want to make sure that Gigg Lane – as it has been for the last couple of weeks – remains a tough place to come to.”
The match will be played some time over the first weekend of December, with the exact date and time dependent on whether it is chosen as a televised match.
