BURY manager David Flitcroft has asked referee Mark Haywood to review the “horror” tackle that ended Anton Forrester’s night against Fleetwood Town only six minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute.
Centre-back Mark Roberts escaped a caution for the challenge - in the League Two match the JD Stadium yesterday - which left the 20-year-old on-loan Blackburn striker with suspected knee ligament damage.
“I was disappointed about the situation, for me it was an absolute nailed on horror tackle,” said the Shakers boss.
“He’s absolutely smashed him. To be fair to the ref he said ‘listen, if I’ve got it wrong I will apologise’. He’s a good ref and he’s a good man so we’ve got to look at that.
“It looks a bit ominous for Anton though, it looks like ligament damage.”
