THIS was the first encounter with high flying Eagle in North Lancs Two.

Bury opened the scoring after two minutes when centre Matt Hindley covered 590 metres to ground under the post, and also add the conversion.

Eagle replied five minutes later when an indifferent attempt of a tackle allowed them to cross the line from the corner for an unconverted try. Eagle continued to pressurise and were rewarded with two converted tries in the 17th and 25th minute.

Bury responded with James Swinburn crossing the line and Hindley adding the conversion. Eagle added a tap penalty which was converted in the 40th minute.

Eagle extended their lead early in the second period with another converted try.

With Eagle losing three players to the sin bin, the visitors ran in three tries courtesy of right wing Sam Ware, of which two were converted by Hindley.

With Eagle back to full player numbers, it was only a matter of time before they scored two further converted tries.

Ware secured two bonus points for the visitors as he outpaced all the cover to score on the post for a converted try.

This Saturday, Bury entertain Birchfield at the Radcliffe Road ground, KO 2.15pm.
