SOMETHING spooky is coming to Burrs Country Park this November at a huge thrilling rock and metal festival.

Festevil Halloween Gathering will be screaming into Bury for a scare-filled over 18s event with a difference.

The spooktacular event — created by the team behind the hugely popular Festwich festival — will featuring six of the best rock and metal tribute acts from across the country, performing tracks by some of the genres’ most iconic artists.

Jools Taylor, Festevil’s organiser, said: “The whole team are really excited about this production as Halloween is a brilliant theme to work with. Burrs Country Park is going to get creepy in the dark, we don’t want to give any surprises away ahead of the event.”

Appearing across the weekend will be tributes to Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Kiss, Slipknot and Slayer, plus legendary host DJ Johnny Doom, known for his regular Kerrang! Radio slot and his passion for classic and hard rock, punk and metal.

In keeping with the spectral season the park will be transformed into a creepy, supernatural pandemonium and organisers are promising a few frights along the way.

The bands will perform inside a giant weather-proof, heated marquee complete with a stage area which will run from 2pm to 10pm.

There will also be indoor covered bars, themed food vendors, including Dexter pit roast; merchandise stalls and a cloak room.

The ghoulish theme also carries through to an “evil” dress code, with gig goers invited to dress especially for Halloween in their best terrifying fancy dress, and there will be prizes for the best outfits.

Ahead of the event ticket sales have been flying faster than a coven of witches on burning broomsticks and fans are advised to snap one up quick to avoid disappointment.

Jools said: “The event is for adults only 18’s and over as we don’t want to scare the children.

“The event has been really well received and 50 per cent of the 1200 allocation of tickets have already been snapped up.”

Festevil will take place at the country park off Woodhill Road on November 2. Tickets priced £15 are available from www.festevil.co.uk, www.ticketline.co.uk or in person from Rock N Goth in Silver Street, Blind Tiger in Bolton Street, Prestwich Hardware Store in Bury New Road, X records in Bolton, Piccadilly Records in Manchester and Action Records in Preston.
