MOTORISTS in Radcliffe are being urged to get ready for the winter by checking their tyres have enough tread.
The Highways Agency say if drivers can see the outer rim of a 20p coin when it is inserted into the main grooves of the tyre, then they should be checked by a tyre professional.
The advice comes after figures show there were more than 1,600 tyre related incidents in the North West last year, including punctures and blow outs.
