KIND-HEARTED cricketers are swapping bat and ball for bikes during a 24 hour charity cycle.
From tomorrow at 7pm, 16 players and members of Elton Cricket Club will be cycling on spinning bikes non stop for a day, to raise money for Bury Cancer Support Centre.
The intrepid fundraisers are undertaking the feat at the club's pavilion, in Leigh Lane, and well wishers are invited to attend and watch, with a raffle and a tombola also being held.
It is the third time that members of the club, which plays in the Central Lancashire League, has taken on the challenge, having previously raised £4,000 in 2011 for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, and a further £6,000 for Bury Hospice in 2012.
They hope to raise a similar amount from this year's event.
They have currently raised more than £1,000, with donations being accepted at justgiving.com/BikeRide2015
