AFTER the great success of its first year, Tottington’s Big Day Out is preparing for its second outing next month.
Families are invited to the event on July 5 at Crompton Meadows starting at 12 noon and finishing at 6pm.
The organisers have promised much of the same family fun, attractions and music as last year – which saw 3,500 visitors flock to the festival at the home of Tottington St John’s Cricket Club, off Beryl Avenue.
Live bands Retrospect, Bronx, Celtic Brew, Sarah Dixon, Le’Zar and New Orleans Jazz Band will entertain crowds throughout the day.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a number of stalls alongside a bouncy castle, barbecue and hog roast, beer tent, tombola and a wdie variety of stalls.
Kirklees Street will be closed from the junction with Royd Street for the day and car parking will be available at Tottington High School
Children are invited to design the logo for next year’s event to win a £10 voucher. All entries must mention Tottington's Big Day Out 2016 and be sent to 16 Tor Avenue, Greenmount, BL8 4HG before June 22.
This year, VIP tickets are available at £5 each which will include access to a private area and quiet seating, private bar and toilets.
For tickets and anyone wanting to sponsor a band or a barrel should e-mail the organisers at tottysbigdayout@gmail.com or call 01204 88 0136.
