A WOMAN has escaped unhurt after ploughing into the front of a Prestwich takeaway.
The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa when she collided with Cafe 7-11 Diner, in Bury Old Road, Prestwich, at about 1pm today.
Fire crews from Whitefield, an ambulance and police were called to the scene.
Watch manager at Whitefield Fire Station, John Van Geffen said: “The woman was about 60 years old in the car with her adult son and she was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
“Our job was to make sure that the car was safe and take out a double glazed window at the front of the restaurant.
“We also took the door out and the whole front of the shop was left exposed.
“The front of the car was battered and the wing mirror had come off, but it seemed to be an accidental incident.”
