ANIMAL lovers are invited to raise a glass to the new opening of a dog boarding centre in Tottington.

Bury-based company Digs for Dogs Pet Services is holding a Digs for Dogs Discovery Day to celebrate the opening of its new head office in Tottington between 11am and 2pm on February 6.

The new centre will open next door to the company’s Grooming Spa franchises in the centre of the village.

The new office will be a base for managing directors Debbie Pomfret and Lisa Hulton, who set up the business in 2012, and will act as an office welcoming customers for a chat and to train franchisees.

Mother-of-two Debbie, aged 52, and Lisa, aged 42, who has three children, turned their passion for animals into the business.

Debbie said: “We started Digs for Dogs with the aim of offering a great alternative to kennels and peace of mind to dog owners by providing home boarding and dog walking services.

“If people are going away and need their dogs watching, we match them with animal lovers, who are mostly retired, and they care for them – it’s much better for the dogs instead of putting them into kennels.

“People treat their pets more like children these days so we also set up our Grooming Spa to offer lots of personal services for the animals.

“The business has grown at a rapid rate since we started and we now have franchisees all over the North West. That’s why we decided it was time to set up a head office and it was ideal to have it next door to the grooming spa.”
