Warning after fake money used to pay for resident's mobile phone in Gumtree sale
POLICE have issued a warning over counterfeit notes circulating in the area.
This latest warning comes after a Radcliffe resident who sold their mobile phone over Gumtree discovered that the buyer had paid using fake notes.
A GMP spokesman tweeted: "Please be aware. Resident sells phone on Gumtree. Buyer came to the house and paid for the phone with counterfeit notes.The seller was told by their bank when they tried to pay the notes in to their account."
