COMMUNITY heroes who provided vital support after the Boxing Day floods were invited to a reception with the Prime Minister last month.
Phillippa McIntyre, from Summerseat, and Ainsworth residents John and Janet Hallows, who helped victims in the Radcliffe and Redvales area, attended the event at 10 Downing Street alongside Bury North MP David Nuttall on March 21.
Mr Nuttall said: "It was an opportunity for the Prime Minister, along with the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Liz Truss and the Floods minister Rory Stewart, to thank just a few of the many thousands of people who helped when our local communities who were devastated by the floods."
Bury Council chief executive Mike Owen also attended the event.
