A CAR was seized in Bury town centre last week after its owner neglected to pay 84 parking tickets.
The Audi was taken away from The Rock by enforcement officers last Wednesday after accruing dozens of Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for persistent parking on yellow lines or prohibited areas.
Cllr Sandra Walmsley, cabinet member for strategic housing and support services, said: “Persistent, irresponsible parking by a minority of drivers causes inconvenience and problems for law abiding drivers and, indeed, shopkeepers and pedestrians.
“We are determined to clamp down on motorists who deliberately and flagrantly flout the law and, working closely with the police, will take whatever steps are necessary.”
