A DRIVER had to be cut out of his car by firefighters after a crash in Bury.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Parkhills Road and Market Street at around 5.30am after the collision, involving a VW Polo and a Ford Mondeo.
The Mondeo driver became trapped in his vehicle, and fire crews from Bury and Whitefield had to remove its roof in order to free him. He was taken to hospital complaining of back pain, but his injuries are not thought to be serious.
The driver of the Polo was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Market Street was due to re-open at around 7am, once officers had cleared the scene of any debris.
