TRAM passengers will be given an extra boost in the run up to Christmas as extra services are laid on.
Transport bosses have announced they will step up Metrolink services from Monday through to December 23.
Double trams will run from Bury, through Radcliffe, Whitefield, Besses, Prestwich, Heaton Park, Manchester city centre and onto Etihad Campus.
The bigger-sized trams will also run from Bury to Altrincham.
Cllr Andrew Fender, Chair of the Transport for Greater Manchester Committee, said: “This is great news for both commuters and leisure travellers, particularly in the busy run up to Christmas.
“We constantly monitor demand to travel across the tram network, listen to feedback from our customers and look for improvements.
"I’m very pleased we’ve been able to provide this festive boost.”
