BOWLERS are “delighted” after a donation allowed them to improve their club’s facilities.
Tottington Park Bowling and Social Club, in Town Meadow, Market Street, Tottington, received a cheque for £2,000 from the East Lancashire Masonic Charity.
The money allowed the committee to invest in the club by building a new kitchen and installing a new boiler and new oven.
The modifications have made facilities easier and safer to use for all members, many of whom are elderly.
Chairman Geoff Leach said: “We are delighted with the donation, which is very generous.
“The club has been established for a long time and our little clubhouse had become a bit antiquated and needed modernising.
“Everything is now a lot better and a lot cleaner.” The club has nearly 140 members and regularly fields several different teams.
