POLICE are appealing for information after the Barracks Coffee House on Bolton Road was burgled.

Intruders broke into the café by forcing open the door and breaking the alarm off the wall.

The thieve damaged the alarm box before searching the property and making off with a safe containing cash.

The break-in happened around 1.15am on Monday July 31 and was caught on CCTV by the café.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that they were called just before 2am after reports of a burglary at the Bolton Road coffee shop

A neighbour witnessed a man jump over a wall at the side of the café, before driving off in a Vauxhall Corsa.

The café was forced to close on the day of the incident, however, it reopened as normal on Tuesday.
