A woman has been taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after a car crashed into a lamppost in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police and fire fighters were called to Lumb Carr Road ajust before 5.15am where a Ford Ka had crashed at the junction with Branch Road.
Officers helped rescue a woman from the vehicle and fire crews treated her on the scene.
She was reported to be conscious and breathing but was taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’.
Fire crews helped remove the vehicle and debris from the road and made the area safe.
Emergency crews were on the scene for around one hour.
